Farmers cultivate several types of microgreens, including peas, sunflowers, four varieties of radish leaves, broccoli, arugula, watercress, red cabbage, amaranth, and basil. MicroSad's greenhouse products are distributed to restaurants and supermarkets.
Currently, harvesting 250-500 kg per month, the farmers aim to increase it to 1,000 kg. The elements for the nutrient solution and the seeds of the cultivated crops are purchased from both the Netherlands and Russia. While water usage is minimal, electricity costs are significant.
MicroSad, located in Akshukur village, plans to expand its 500-square-meter facility, further diversifying its production. "It was not easy, and now everything is not smooth, but we are expanding. Through the Agricultural Credit Corporation, we bought out the debt enterprise of an entrepreneur who was unable to grow crops due to the pandemic. The former business owner took funds from the corporation to organize production. We decided to repurchase this debt asset only because we had experience in crop production. At the time the premises were handed over to us, it was 70 percent equipped. From the corporation, we received working capital to advance the work for 15 million tenge at 6 percent, which we will pay back over five years."
