Let's get ready for the VertiFarm photo report

It's that time again! Get ready for the photos we've taken at the VertiFarm in Dortmund, Germany, in the past week. Although it might not have been the largest industry event, visitors said to be rather content with the turnout at the booths. The event size was perfect for socializing, networking, and meeting professionals.

Another attendee mentioned that there were many new innovations to be found, such as lighting, growing cabinets for retail/horeca, R&D vertical farms from small- to larger scale, applications that could be used in multiple sectors, and of course, lighting innovations.

Startups that participated last year either pivoted their entire product, whereas others showcased an upgraded design or solution that they've worked on in the past year. Exhibitors present were mostly intertwined in more than one industry, as we've heard mentions of the horticulture-, floriculture-, medical cannabis- and vertical farming industry.

Lutz Kaiser and Sascha Rose with Roko Farming are showing their latest system update whilst working on another product that's a bit bigger and suitable for microgreen production. On top of that, they could be used by conventional farmers as well.

When being asked what the current state is of the industry as a whole, many mentioned it's unfortunately slow. However, that didn't hold them back from being present at this show, and future ones.
