“Women in CEA” (WiCEA) is a women-led group focused on uniting women across the CEA industry through online and in-person networking and educational events. With a vision for 80% of CEA companies to have their female employees join WiCEA by 2025, the group is creating a space for women to innovate, connect and inspire.
The group will host their first in-person event at VertiFarm in Dortmund, Germany, on September 28. The event is open to all women working in CEA attending VertiFarm in person. However, attendees are required to register for the WiCEA event ahead of the 28th in order to guarantee their spot. A combination of speakers, networking opportunities, and group workshops will fill the morning’s program.
Some expected highlights of the event include a keynote on “Why Purposeful Leadership Matters” by Greta Grace and a group workshop on how to use networking in business. The day will start at 10:30 a.m. and go until approximately 12:30 p.m.
The group of women who founded Women in CEA expressed their excitement to officially launch WiCEA publicly at VertiFarm. “Women are natural collaborators, and with WiCEA, we are hoping to provide women in CEA more opportunities to foster collaboration, support their professional development, and offer mentorship to those looking to advance within or enter the industry.”
