Godfrey Stephens, a famous Canadian artist, visits The Vancouver Compost Garden. He is 83, born in 1939.
In 1971 his sculpture was presented to Princess Anne at the opening of the Pacific Rim National Park.
In 1973, his 24-foot tall abstract cedar columns were inaugurated at Victoria’s Times Colonist Press buildings.

He carved Weeping Cedar Woman in 1984 in protest against the logging of Meares Island.

Godfrey sketched his trademark “Man in a Teacup,” a signature he’s used for decades, on one of our wooden structures at the City Farmer garden.
