Clean Food Group Announces Strategic Partnership and Investment with Alianza Team. Alianza Team, Bio-tech, Sustainable Oils, Commercialisation, Investment, Collaboration

In a significant move for the biotech industry, UK’s Clean Food Group has unveiled a strategic collaboration and investment partnership with Latin American food production titan Alianza Team. Renowned for its expertise in lipid-based technology, nutrition, and frozen bakery, Alianza Team is set to bolster Clean Food Group’s journey toward commercialization.

This collaboration aims to merge Clean Food Group’s prowess in microbial oil production with Alianza Team’s 75-year legacy in crafting functional oils and fats. The joint venture is poised to introduce products that cater to the industry’s demand for sustainable, functional, and economically viable alternatives to traditional, agriculture-intensive ingredients.

As a testament to their commitment, Alianza Team is investing in Clean Food Group’s ongoing “Pre-series A” funding round, slated to conclude in August 2023. This round, buoyed by new and existing investors, will empower the company to amplify its technology platform and navigate crucial regulatory and commercial avenues. With plans to finalize a Series A funding in 2024, Clean Food Group anticipates having a commercially validated technology and a clear trajectory towards imminent revenue streams. The Series A funds will be channeled toward establishing a commercial-scale manufacturing hub.

At the heart of the company’s innovative strides is a technology platform, a brainchild of eight years of groundbreaking research steered by Professor Chris Chuck. This unique platform harnesses scalable yeast strains and fermentation technology, utilizing food waste as its primary resource. The result? Sustainable alternatives to conventional oil and fat ingredients.

Alex Neves, Clean Food Group’s Co-founder, and CEO, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “This collaboration with Alianza Team is a monumental step in our commercialization journey. Their investment validates our technology platform and propels us closer to our goal of launching sustainable oils and fats at a commercial scale within the next three years.”

Echoing this sentiment, Luis Botero, President and CEO of Alianza Team, emphasized their shared vision of innovation and sustainability. He remarked, “Our collaboration with Clean Food Group aligns with our commitment to fostering healthier and sustainable food choices. Together, we aim to revolutionize the food systems for the betterment of future generations.”
