About 50 apples have grown on his rooftop garden.

Not only apples, he has grown pomelo, carambola, Jumbo Dragon fruit which mostly grow in Thailand along with Australian pumpkin and oranges. Initially, he started growing these fruits as a hobby, but now, he wants to create an alternative method of fruit cultivation for commercial growers.

“Since my childhood, I have loved growing trees. Later, I made this rooftop garden. I intend to spread the message to the commercial growers that it is possible to grow fruits in tubs as well. With the aim of creating an alternative way of fruit cultivation, I am planning to approach the organizations that give training to the commercial growers on cultivation. I want to provide them training on this apple growing process,” said Ghosh.

Paritosh Ghosh, is a resident of College Para in Siliguri. He is a lawyer by profession. He started this rooftop garden four years ago and started growing the Thailand variety of apples about three years ago.

He brought the seed of the HRMN99 variety online. He uses organic fertilisers and takes care of the trees twice a day. The tree blooms throughout the year and fructifies from November to January. He got yields thrice in three years.
