I am a photographer reporter and I would like to carry out a photo reportage project on urban agriculture

Since his childhood, Martin Bertrand has always been attracted to the arts. His holidays were always accompanied by his disposable camera, his first step into this world. The discovery of photography really began at the age of 14. Of an hyperactive nature, he was quickly seduced by the instantaneity of the photographic medium.

After obtaining his baccalaureate, he naturally follows a professional training as a photographer which allows him to forge a solid technique and learn the workings of the profession.

Through his experiences, he quickly became aware of the power of photography and the possibilities that opened up to him in terms of travel and discovery. His curiosity allows him to take a unique look at his contemporaries and the world in which we live.

In June 2016, Martin choose Hans Lucas. The studio then makes a bet on its potential and decides to propel it.

Brussels, where our report takes us to discover five original initiatives: a professor converted into an urban shepherd, a farm self-sufficient aquaponics, mushroom producers in used coffee grounds, a nursery. See more photos.

Through his many personal projects, he is particularly interested in youth and geo-environmental issues. The 21st century and the upheavals that accompany it fascinate him in particular.

His latest projects were carried out in Southeast Asia where he was able to work for seven months. The most important of them is called The Face of Mekong. With the mythical Mekong River and its resources as its main theme, it provides a broad perspective on the geo-environmental issues related to development in the Indochina peninsula (Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand).

He also focused on Vietnamese and Laotian youth through the lens of street sports and urban culture.
