Dissolved oxygen platform launched

BioTherm has launched the DOS-X™ Dissolved Oxygen Platform specifically designed for the CEA, horticulture, and cannabis industries. "This technology addresses a new standard in dissolved oxygen infusion in water, which aim is to empower horticulturists to optimize plant health and maximize yields through precise dissolved oxygen management", the team says.

The BioTherm Dissolved Oxygen System (DOS) is a gas to liquid infusion technology that increases measurable dissolved oxygen (DO) levels in irrigation water. DOS-X packages are available for flow rates up to 60 gpm.

The DOS-X is built on a stainless-steel frame, making it corrosion-resistant and able to withstand the elements of the growing environment. Easily integrated into existing DO control systems.

Key Features and Benefits of the DOS-X™ Dissolved Oxygen Platform:

  1. Plug & play system application
  2. Enhanced oxygen levels in irrigation water
  3. Enhanced root growth
  4. Improved photosynthesis
  5. Improved nutrient uptake
  6. Prevention of root rot and other pathogens

"The DOS-X Dissolved Oxygen Platform offers a comprehensive and reliable solution for infusing and monitoring dissolved oxygen levels in horticultural water systems. By ensuring an optimal oxygen environment, growers can enhance nutrient absorption, root development, and overall plant vitality, leading to improved crop quality and yield", says Jim Rearden, co-founder and President of BioTherm.

He expressed excitement about the recent release of the DOS-X™ Series of dissolved oxygen infusers. “We think we’re turning over a new leaf in our dissolved oxygen infusion journey” Jim Rearden said, “With the plug-and-play approach our design team has taken, horticulturalists everywhere will have easy access to the benefits of dissolved oxygen with a handful of standardized pieces of equipment.”

When asked further on his thoughts about their new product release, Mr. Rearden stated, “We started producing and selling dissolved oxygen infusion packages in 2016, but at the time these systems required engineering and litany of design considerations. This new rendition allows for growers of all sizes to simply buy one item that can meet their needs without the hassle of constant back-and-forth between our sales representatives and the engineers that support them. Our goal was to craft the easiest to use infuser for our customers.”

Dante Fernandez, Engineering Manager at BioTherm, was elated for the release of his recent project, the DOS-X™ Series of Dissolved Oxygen infusion devices. “I was originally hired at BioTherm to redesign the original infusion product they offered – The O2 TOOB,” Dante said, “It was clear from the get-go that this wasn’t going to be an easy undertaking, so we collectively agreed to redesign our infusers from the ground up.”

Dante Fernandez, a colorful character with 15+ years of experience in R&D engineering and design, later stated, “prior to the release of the DOS-X™, our approach to dissolved oxygen infusion was overburdened by the custom engineering involved. Our goal was to produce a standardized, plug-and-play rendition of our technology for the horticulture market, and the DOS-X™ Series is just that.”
