Fluor Corporation to Provide Carbon Capture Technology for Federated Co-Operatives’ Renewable Diesel Complex

Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) has announced signing a license agreement with Federated Co-Operatives Limited (FCL) to apply its Econamine FG PlusSM carbon capture technology at FCL’s Co-op Renewable Diesel Complex in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. This agreement aims to help FCL achieve a 40% greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction target by 2030.

Fluor will provide a process design package for the plant as part of this partnership during the first quarter. FCL’s renewable diesel project, set to begin operations in 2027, is part of a $2 billion investment in developing an integrated agribusiness complex that will play an essential role in FCL’s energy roadmap.

Jim Breuer, Group President of Fluor’s Energy Solutions business, expressed his enthusiasm about helping FCL meet its decarbonization goals through GHG emissions reduction using Fluor’s carbon capture technology. He added that the Econamine FG Plus technology would contribute to a more sustainable future and address the world’s growing energy demands.

By adopting Fluor’s advanced carbon capture technology, FCL is taking a significant step towards sustainability and meeting the environmental goals set for its renewable diesel project. This partnership reflects the increasing importance of innovative solutions for reducing GHG emissions in the energy sector and showcases the growing demand for sustainable alternatives.
