Enhancing Farm Safety in Ukraine: FMC & HALO Trust Unite

FMC Farm safety in Ukraine

FMC Corporation (NYSE: FMC), a leading global agricultural sciences company, has joined forces with The HALO Trust, a humanitarian non-governmental organization focused on protecting lives and restoring the livelihoods of those affected by conflict. Together, they aim to enhance farm safety in Ukraine. As part of its Cultivating Freedom campaign, FMC has committed to donating 3% of its 2023 sales revenue in Ukraine to significantly expand The HALO Trust’s demining efforts in conflict-affected regions throughout the country.

With financial support from FMC, The HALO Trust will be able to substantially increase its capacity to remove landmines from Ukrainian farms, allowing farmers to return to their fields for planting and harvest safely. This initiative protects the lives of Ukrainian farmers and contributes to improving global food security. Through this partnership, FMC and The HALO Trust hope to create a future where farmers can cultivate their lands without fear of explosive remnants from the war, paving the way for robust reconstruction efforts that benefit farming communities and the entire country.

FMC President and CEO Mark Douglas expressed pride in their partnership with The HALO Trust. He praised the organization’s over three decades of demining efforts, significantly improving safety and livelihoods in many conflict-impacted countries. James Cowan, CEO of The HALO Trust, also expressed gratitude for FMC’s generous commitment to fund their life-saving work in Ukraine.

With FMC’s backing, The HALO Trust will be able to invest in people, equipment, and new technology necessary for the daunting task of making Ukraine safe from landmines, bombs, and shells. As a result, demining teams equipped with critical demining tools will clear land for Ukrainian farmers, their families, and their communities, impacting the lives of those affected by conflict.
