AMGUARD™ Environmental Technologies, an AMVAC Chemical Corporation division, and American Vanguard Corporation subsidiary, has announced a supply agreement with NewLeaf Symbiotics® to introduce biological solutions to critical North American specialty markets. This collaboration will allow AMGUARD to exclusively sell NewLeaf’s bio-stimulant and bio-protection products in golf, ornamental, controlled-environment agriculture (CEA), cannabis, and consumer markets across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. These production areas represent slightly over 50 million treatable acres in North America.
This agreement expands upon the partnership between NewLeaf and AMVAC®, established in October 2022, which aimed to bring biological solutions to North American agricultural crop markets. This included the recent launch of BioWake™, a dual-use biological seed lubricant for corn and soybeans. In addition, the partnership further reinforces AVD’s strategic growth initiative in GreenSolutions™.
Shayne M. Wetherall, CEO of AMGUARD Environmental Technologies, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, noting that NewLeaf Symbiotics’ technology and product offerings strengthen AMGUARD’s specialty markets portfolio. He looks forward to leveraging their extensive market access and sales force expertise to introduce NewLeaf’s innovative biological solutions to North American specialty markets.
Brent Smith, President of NewLeaf Symbiotics, also highlighted the company’s eagerness to expand its North American market presence through the partnership with AMGUARD. NewLeaf brings its proprietary microbial library, proven research and development capabilities, and current commercial products that deliver measurable benefits to the collaboration. Both companies anticipate finding additional synergies among their respective technologies and product lines.
