Swiss company Wingtra’s latest $22M series B funding round will enable the company to accelerate its global operations further as it serves the rapidly growing demand for commercial VTOL drones. The aerial data solutions offered by Wingtra have helped the company to establish itself as the world’s largest producer of commercial VTOL drones. The company’s flagship product, the WingtraOne VTOL, has emerged as a powerful tool for conducting over 100,000 flights annually and mapping 18 million acres of land and sea, equivalent to 13.6 million football fields. In addition, the product’s simplicity of use, high-reliability engineering, and the company’s global network of value-added resellers and service providers have positioned it to expand its leadership in the global $83B+ mapping segment of the aerial intelligence market.

The Swiss company’s success can be traced to its roots in the Autonomous Systems Lab of ETH Zurich, one of the world’s leading tech universities. Since then, Wingtra has grown into an internationally expanding scale-up business with almost 200 employees and offices in Zurich, Switzerland (headquarters), Fort Lauderdale, US, and Zagreb, Croatia. With the recent addition of Alberto Toledo as GM in the US from Citrix and Marco Schicker as COO from Hilti AG, Wingtra is poised to expand its reach even further. The company’s plans include significant new features, camera integrations, and product launches in the upcoming years, which are expected to reinforce its position as a leader in the aerial intelligence market.
