Canada: 2023 – Toasting the New Year at City Farmer!
We raise a glass of our ‘garden grown’ beer this year
Thanks to the design work of Maria and Ann, we have the above label for this year’s IPA. A rare visit by a Cooper’s Hawk prompted this choice. At the end of each year we look back to try to find some important events that can be used to name our labels.
This year’s ‘cream ale’ is named ‘Deep Dive’ and features two of our volunteers inside a Safeway waste dumpster. We grab food scraps from their garbage bin to feed our large worm composters from which we harvest compost to feed our hop vines.
140 ‘rockets’ provide pleasure to our staff and volunteers. Making beer shows the public that a wide variety of edibles and drinkables can come from a city garden.
