North Korea Introduces ‘Rooftop Farm’ with Artificial Pond

SEOUL, Oct. 19 (Korea Bizwire) — The Chosun Sinbo, a pro-North Korean newspaper in Japan, recently introduced the rooftop farm of a daycare center in Pyongyang as a good example of ‘rooftop afforestation.’
The rooftop of the daycare center is completely covered with gardens and an artificial pond. Viewed from the sky, the rooftop is fully green, appearing to be a farm.
The media noted that the trend of rooftop afforestation goes beyond the limit of simply planting flowers, towards growing fruits and vegetables and building artificial ponds. Convergence-type rooftop afforestation is becoming a new trend.
