[This is the first of three articles about H.W.Darr’s 1914 City Farm.]

H.W. Darr, 5025 Harriet Ave. is one of the Minneapolis gardeners who makes his enterprise pay. The City Farmer’s column told all about him in Wednesday’s Tribune. Last year he cultivated four average sized lots and two smaller ones, and made more than $300. His family of six persons got enough vegetables from the garden to supply it from the time the garden began producing clear through the winter.

He sold the rest to grocery stores and it brought him $198.81 in Cash. In addition to all this, he sold a story about his efforts to the “Country Gentleman” for a tidy little check. He says anyone can make a city farm pay.
