GrowUp Farms is partnering with Salinity Solutions to conduct the food sector’s first trial of a water treatment technology. Salinity Solutions’ batch reverse osmosis technology is energy-efficient, recovering up to 98% of clean water, and adaptable for various uses. The trial at GrowUp Farms’ Pepperness farm aims to purify and reuse wastewater within the farm’s operations, potentially enhancing its environmental impact. The initiative is funded by a £29,000 grant from the Growing Kent and Medway’s ‘Business Sustainability Challenge’ program and could transform food systems beyond the region.

GrowUp Farms Unveils Unbeleafable (2023/08/08)

A UK vertical farm, GrowUp Farms, has launched an innovative range of ready-to-eat salads called Unbeleafable®. These salads are grown on a vertical farm without the use of harmful pesticides and chlorine washing, making them tastier and have an extended shelf life. They are available in selected Tesco stores starting from 26th July. Unbeleafable salads are also sustainable and help reduce unnecessary food waste. They represent a groundbreaking approach to sustainable and locally produced food.
