Ecoslay Partners with Urban Farm for Sustainable Plant-Based Haircare

Atlanta-based haircare brand, Ecoslay, has announced a unique partnership with the Truly Living Well Center For Natural Urban Agriculture, a local urban farm, in an effort to harvest fresh, organic ingredients for their plant-based haircare line. The partnership aims to strengthen local agriculture while promoting environmentally friendly and sustainable business practices.

The collaboration involves planting a variety of botanicals including okra, chamomile, marshmallow, and amaranth, with future plans to include flax, slippery elm, ginger, and horsetail. Notably, some of the harvested ingredients such as okra and amaranth can already be found in Ecoslay’s popular products like the Banana Cream, Jello Shot, and Sangria hair refresher.

Adria Marshall, Founder & CEO of Ecoslay, explained the inspiration behind the partnership, “At Ecoslay, we believe in the power of community. With this partnership, we can ensure our hair products include fresh ingredients that are good for you, while also protecting the environment. We all win if we work together. Truly Living Well is doing wonderful things for our city by providing fresh produce for people and agricultural education for our youth.”

The Ecoslay brand, born in Adria’s kitchen in 2015, is a testament to her quest for suitable products for her natural curly hair. After countless hours of experimenting, Marshall succeeded in formulating what are now some of the brand’s best-selling products. Ecoslay prioritizes high-quality, natural, plant-based ingredients and sustainable packaging solutions, such as recyclable pouches and glass jars.

By partnering with the Truly Living Well farm located near Morehouse College, Ecoslay is reinforcing its commitment to local and sustainable sourcing, while actively supporting community agriculture and green initiatives.

Reflecting on the shared goals of the two entities, Marshall further commented, “Truly Living Well and Ecoslay share a similar vision of caring for our community, and protecting our planet. Together we look forward to planting a more sustainable and green future for our local community, and our customers.”

This collaboration is a prominent example of how businesses can leverage local partnerships to enhance product quality, support the local economy, and foster sustainable and eco-friendly practices. The partnership also underscores the potential role of urban agriculture in promoting local sourcing and sustainability within the beauty industry.
