The Chicago Venture Summit Future-of-Food, a flagship event for the region’s venture and startup community, is set to bring together over 1,000 investors, founders, innovators, and corporate executives for three days of discussions and networking at 167 Green Street in Chicago’s Fulton Market District. The summit has earned a national reputation as one of North America’s premier venture conferences.

The World Business Chicago Research Center has released a report stating that Chicago is the most significant metropolitan region for food production in the United States and the top center for food bioengineering and production. The summit has a collection of 156 innovative startups, with almost half of them led by female-identifying founders and 66% by founders of color.

According to Michael Fassnacht, CEO & President of World Business Chicago and Chief Marketing Officer of the City of Chicago, the Chicago Venture Summit reflects their strong commitment to promoting diversity and inclusivity in economic development. He expressed their pride in being at the forefront of efforts to create a more equitable and inclusive future.

The Chicago Venture Summit Future-of-Food is supported by 53 unique sponsors, including presenting sponsors BMO, Cleveland Avenue, Cooley, Edelman, Ferrero, Mars Wrigley, Microsoft, Quakers Foods North America, and Shapack. Their valuable contributions have made the premier event for food innovation possible.

During a recent event in Chicago, Alison Borgmeyer, Chair of US Food & Beverage for Edelman, emphasized Edelman’s role in food and beverage innovation. Meanwhile, Fabiano Lima, a board member for World Business Chicago and Global VP for Corporate Affairs for Mars Wrigley, highlighted the company’s 100-year history in Chicago and its plans for a $40 million innovation center.

Jeff Shapack, the founder and CEO of Shapack Partners and a World Business Chicago board member, is thrilled to host the Chicago Venture Summit Future of Food for the second year at 167 N Green in the Fulton Market District.
