India: Thane school kids cultivate a rooftop garden without soil, growing medicinal plants and vegetables

Azad Nagar School No.55 in Thane Municipal Corporation of Mumbai is now known as a green and progressive school. The school’s title was earned through the hard work and creativity of its students. Nutan Bandekar, an enterprising school teacher, took the initiative to build an eco-friendly soilless garden on the school roof. Students from the sixth to eighth grades were instrumental in the creation of the new garden.
