US: Virginia senator Mark Warner visits AeroFarms' Danville facility

In March, U.S. Senator Mark Warner came to visit AeroFarms Danville for a tour of the farm and a roundtable discussion on the future of agriculture in Virginia. Senator Warner had a chance to tour AeroFarms Danville, the company's latest aeroponic smart farm that is capable of growing over 3 million pounds of its leafy greens annually.

AeroFarms hosted a roundtable discussion for the agriculture community, where Senator Warner spoke with local farmers and agribusiness stakeholders about Virginia's rich history of agriculture and its future with the contributions of CEA companies like AeroFarms.

Guests at the discussion ranged from dairy farmers to those in agricultural research to lenders who work in the farming community. Additionally, Senator Warner provided updates on the progress of the 2023 Farm Bill, which is updated every five years, including the food and agriculture programs within the upcoming bill, such as the Supplemental Nutritional Access Program (SNAP), crop insurance, forestry management, and more.

During the event, AeroFarms Co-founder and CEO David Rosenberg spoke to attendees about the importance of collaboration between different sectors of the agriculture industry, as well as the reasons why government support for the growing vertical farming industry is so crucial to its success.
