An Östenssons Livs AB partnership

Sweden: Swegreen launches farming display in supermarket

On Thursday, March 23, Östenssons' new store in Björkalund, Sweden, becomes the first of the several planned in-store farms to be launched in a collaboration between Swegreen and Östenssons.

Swegreen and Östenssons launched their first In-store farm on Thursday, March 23, with the ambition of rolling out several more in Östenssons' stores in Östergötland, Sweden. These in-store farms will allow customers to buy locally grown fresh leafy greens (lettuce, spices, and herbs) on-site and in the store. The collaboration between Swegreen and Östenssons will contribute to more sustainable and environmentally friendly food production.

"We are proud to launch our first In-store farm with Östenssons, one of the leading independent grocery store chains in Sweden," says Swegreen's CEO, Pierre Mohlin. "We are convinced that this partnership will contribute to a more sustainable food production and that this is a first step towards a strategic partnership. Our technology enables us to offer crops of the highest quality to our customers and at very competitive prices."

Östenssons' CEO, Anders Lindblom, is also enthusiastic about the partnership: "We look forward to launching our first in-store farm together with Swegreen. We believe that this initiative will be of great benefit to our customers with more local and healthy options at the right price, an attractive shopping experience while also helping us reduce our carbon footprint."

Östenssons is an independent retail and grocery chain in Östergötland, with stores located in Motala, Vadstena, Skänninge, Borensberg, and Linköping. Now, as Östenssons launches its first store in Norrköping, it is done simultaneously with the launch of its first In-store farm.
