Excerpt:

Rajkumar Singh Rawat hails from Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand and lives in Delhi with his family. Rajkumar’s Father Jagmohan Singh Rawat was a soldier, so he got an opportunity to live in different parts of the country. He spent his childhood in Punjab and saw farming closely, and that paved the way for his love for gardening, a hobby he’d indulge in with his father. But due to his studies and eventually a job, he found it hard to keep up with his favourite pass time.

When the whole country was locked inside their houses due to the Covid-19 lockdown and offices were closed, Rawat saw an opportunity and started gardening on the roof of his house. Presently, he works in an MNC in Gurgaon and is pursuing his hobby of gardening on the terrace at home in Sangam Vihar, Delhi.

Rawat explains that two things are very special in his way of gardening. The first is that he does not use chemicals at all. Second, he makes sure to use as many items that have gone to waste at home for planting. With the help of his family, he has converted the entire house into a greenhouse. As a result, many birds come to their house and make nests. Apart from this, he also grows a variety of seasonal vegetables.
