One of the highlights of the spring for me has been planting and beginning to see growth in the ‘LifeSpace’ garden box at City Farmer over the last several weeks. The ability to access a hobby or activity where you can be outdoors in nature is such a blessing. For the last 16 months, I have suffered from Long Covid. I contracted COVID from the unit of the hospital I was working on as an RN (Registered Nurse). While I did not require ventilation or ICU support, COVID has had prolonged impacts on my health leaving me with debilitating fatigue, pain and many other symptoms.

I loved the outdoors and before I was sick, I would spend my off days hiking and exploring our beautiful province. Now wheelchair bound, it is not easy for me to engage in these activities. But, I am so thankful to everyone at City Farmer for giving me a garden box this year and for making the garden such a welcoming and beautiful place to spend time. Thank you for making it possible for me to enjoy our beautiful world!
