“Knowledge and Skills for Commercial Urban Agriculture”

Monday, May 16, 2022, from 2pm to 3:30pm CET on the Zoom platform.

FAO&EBRD

Differently from traditional agriculture, modern urban and peri-urban farms are recruiting new figures and requiring new skills. The sector is growing and the technology is evolving faster than any other field in agriculture. “Farmers” may no longer be the only noun to describe actors involved in commercial urban and peri-urban agriculture. Engineering, IT, food technology and other skills are now becoming equally important to succeed in this new and highly competitive business.

With more than 400 participants on the first three e-dialogues, we invite you to meet again with the key players in all relevant urban farming fields and to continue the global discussion about the main skills that modern commercial urban farming requires today and what will be needed in the nearest future.
