The bar is famous for its open air greenhouse vibes, with an abundance of foliage on show to make guests feel like they are in a jungle. Another unique feature is their rooftop gardens where they grow produce used across their venues.

The Culpeper grows vegetables suitable for small spaces to fit their rooftop conditions. Expect to find salad leaves and hers planted all year round, with courgettes, beans, tomatoes, chilies, aubergines, and some root veg in the summer.

Jack Astbury is the bar’s head gardener, who makes sure all the produce grown up top makes it down to the kitchen and bar, where Head Chef Pawel Ojdowski creates dishes such as beef kofta with mint yoghurt and pickled chilli, lamb shoulder with purple sprouting broccoli and romesco sauce, and rhubarb panna cotta.

Each year the garden opens up for the summer with a new theme, with 2022’s being ‘The Culpeper Regen Rooftop’. Its inspiration is taken from the Regenerative Agriculture events they held over the winter, in hopes of making the whole venue more sustainable.
