At the back of a school, surrounded by suburban streets, three young urban farmers are cultivating a market garden.

Farm Raiser is the project of Kirsty, Charlotte and Patrick; three horticulturalists interested in community building and environmental sustainability.

Jonathan paid a visit to the site and was humbled by the amount of spinach a small farm could produce.

From their Facebook page:
We will be at Elwood farmers market tomorrow morning with plenty of our crunchy carrots along with sugar snap peas, radish, herbs and heaps more.
Thanks to our carrots we have gained many return customers at Elwood FM- they tell us they cant go back to supermarket carrots after eating ours. Some people even buy 3 bunches at a time to get them through to our next Elwood visit.
They are the perfect rainy November weekend veggie- roasted with honey and served with chopped nuts and herbs.
Storage tip: remove the tops as soon as you get home and place in an airtight container with a light sprinkling of water to keep them crunchy.
