FAO: Urban agriculture for circular cities: Space and logistic opportunities

Moderated by Francesco Orsini, Professor of Urban Agriculture at University of Bologna and Jacopo Monzini, FAO Senior Officer. December 17, 2021, from 10:30am to 1:00pm CET

We invite you to join the second interactive e-dialogue of a nine-part series: “Urban agriculture for circular cities: Space and logistic opportunities” that aims to identify successful urban farming policies and initiatives developed by municipalities that could also foster commercial Urban and Peri-Urban Farming. Hearing the voice of municipalities, already engaged with urban farming, you will discuss the policies and regulation changes that enable public and private investments in urban agriculture and how the economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainability were targeted.

Since most world cities feature different forms of agriculture within their urban and peri-urban lands, the discussion will be divided in four sections:

Rooftop Agriculture;
Social Urban and Peri-Urban farming;
Agricultural parks;
Vertical farming.
Invitation with more details on E-dialogue is attached.

The e-dialogue will be moderated by
Francesco Orsini, Professor of Urban Agriculture at University of Bologna and Jacopo Monzini, FAO Senior Officer.
