Project Overview

Capgemini has successfully rolled out a new integrated business platform for Bayer’s Crop Science division in Brazil, Bayer’s second-largest market. This new system, built on SAP S/4HANA®, consolidates the division’s commercial processes, streamlining operations and improving efficiencies throughout the customer lifecycle.

Benefits of the New Platform

The implementation of this platform marks a significant enhancement in Bayer’s operational capabilities, particularly in managing the complexities of Brazil’s extensive tax legislation which affects everything from order calculations to invoicing. The platform not only automates these processes but also brings transparency and new functionalities that were essential for Bayer to handle the diverse needs of its product lines effectively.

“With the new system, tasks such as order management, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the administration of discount agreements are now fully integrated. This allows for the straightforward introduction of new business models, critical in a competitive market like Brazil,” explained Florian Reiche, Bayer’s Vice President and Project Manager.

Collaborative Success

The development and deployment of the business platform are the results of the collaborative efforts between Capgemini, SAP, and Bayer. This project required meticulous planning, expert knowledge, and a commitment to excellence from all parties involved. “The success of such a critical project required a great deal of collaboration by the central partners to ensure the best experience for our customers,” said Reiche.

Martin Arnoldy, Group Client Partner for Bayer at Capgemini, reflected on the partnership’s success, “Our long-standing collaboration with Bayer and deep understanding of the organization’s processes make us the trusted partner of choice to support Bayer in realizing new value creation through the strategic application of key technologies such as SAP S/4HANA®.”
