Ontario Inventor Initiates Indiegogo Campaign for Innovative Aeroponic Indoor Gardens

Key Details:

  • Dan Atkinson, an inventor based in Puslinch, Ontario, has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo with a target of $100,000 to support the production of The Eden and The Eboo, indoor vertical aeroponic gardens.
  • These gardens are designed to allow sustainable living enthusiasts to grow fresh produce within their homes and community spaces, contributing to a more sustainable and resilient future.
  • Contributions to the campaign will also support the distribution of these aeroponic units to food banks in Guelph and surrounding areas, promoting community-wide sustainability efforts.

Bridging the Gap in Sustainable Indoor Gardening

The Eden Aeroponics Project, founded by Dan Atkinson, seeks to revolutionize how individuals grow food at home, in food banks, and in other shared spaces. Through the launch of an Indiegogo campaign, Atkinson aims to fund the scale-up of The Eden and The Eboo, aeroponic systems that he developed to facilitate the growing of vegetables, herbs, and fruits indoors, regardless of the season.

“If you love fresh lettuce, strawberries, and herbs, you will love The Eden and The Eboo,” Atkinson stated, emphasizing the dual benefit of investing in a sustainable indoor gardening solution and supporting a movement toward a more resilient future.

Sustainable Design and Community Support

The Eden and The Eboo are the culmination of 2.5 years of research, prototyping, and testing, showcasing how style and sustainability can coexist harmoniously. Made from sustainable and recyclable bamboo, these aeroponic gardens not only aim to beautify living spaces but also to produce hyper-local, crisp greens and other produce all year round.

The campaign outlines several support tiers for backers, ranging from Sprout Supporter ($50 CAD) to Aeroponic Angel ($250 CAD), each offering various levels of involvement and impact, particularly in supporting the local food banks with fresh produce supplies. Furthermore, for those interested in bringing this technology into their own homes, options to purchase The Eboo or The Eden are available, featuring full-spectrum LED lighting and sustainable design materials.
