Canada: David Suzuki Tours City Farmer

David Suzuki Tours City Farmer from Michael Levenston on Vimeo.

Walking through the Vancouver Compost Demonstration Garden with David Suzuki.

Maria Keating shows David Suzuki a bear proof composter, our teaching area, the large New Zealand worms-bins and her wild, whimsical Bug Garden.

In October, 2022, CBC brought a large crew to the the Compost Garden to film David Suzuki for his last show on ‘The Nature of Things’. He retired at 86 years of age after his visit with us. David and Maria Keating, Bug Lady at City Farmer, chatted for three hours. He was entranced by the garden and was in no hurry to leave. Unfortunately, the segment on our garden did not make it into the final show which features his home and neighbourhood just down the street on Point Grey Road.

A few weeks ago, we were delighted to hear from the generous director of the shoot that all the rough ‘LOG’ footage taken on that day a year ago could come to us. [With permission from David Suzuki.]

On this site there are a number of short edited clips from those LOG files which give a glimpse of that memorable day.
